Bolivian Rams (Mikrogeophagus altispinosus) are peaceful South American dwarf cichlids admired for their warm gold and silver colouration, red-edged fins, and distinctive dark markings. Their calm temperament and engaging behaviour make them an excellent feature fish for planted community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable, clean water, gentle filtration, fine substrate, and plenty of plants, driftwood, rocks, and sheltered areas. Providing open areas for foraging alongside suitable hiding places allows them to display their natural behaviour. They are generally peaceful but may become territorial when spawning, so adequate space and compatible tankmates are recommended.

Feed a varied diet of quality dwarf cichlid pellets, micro foods, frozen, and live foods to support healthy growth and colouration.
