Bolivian Rams are attractive freshwater dwarf cichlids with a golden-brown body accented by iridescent blue markings, dark patches, and reddish tones on the fins. Their compact, oval-shaped bodies, rounded fins, and subtle facial markings give them a colorful and elegant appearance.

Basic care information: A peaceful South American dwarf cichlid that is generally hardier and less aggressive than many other dwarf cichlids. Provide a mature, well-planted aquarium with fine sand, driftwood, rocks, hiding places, and open swimming areas. Maintain stable temperatures around 22–28°C and pH around 6.0–7.5. Keep with peaceful, similarly sized tankmates and provide caves or flat surfaces for spawning. Pairs may become territorial while breeding and will guard their eggs and fry.
