Parva Rainbowfish - 3.5cm (Melanotaenia parva) (Live Fish)

Parva Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia parva), also known as Lake Kurumoi Rainbowfish, are attractive and relatively uncommon New Guinea rainbowfish admired for their shimmering blue, mauve, silver, and orange-red colouration. Mature males can develop particularly vivid red-orange tones and striking red fins, making them an eye-catching addition to planted community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable, clean water, good filtration, and plenty of aquatic plants and open swimming space. Best kept in groups, they display their natural schooling behaviour and feel more secure. Peaceful by nature, they can be housed with other similarly sized, non-aggressive community fish, although their active swimming style makes adequate space important.
