Acclimation Guide
Acclimation Guide
1. Prepare Your Aquarium
Make sure your aquarium is fully cycled, with 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite, and the temperature is suitable for your new fish.
2. Start Drip Acclimation
Place your fish and their transport water into a clean container. Using airline tubing, slowly drip water from your aquarium into the container at approximately 2–4 drops per second.
3. Slowly Add Aquarium Water
Over the next 30–60 minutes, allow the water volume to approximately double. This helps your fish gradually adjust to their new water conditions.
4. Transfer Your Fish
Gently net your fish into their new aquarium. Avoid adding transport water to your tank.
5. Give Them Time to Settle
Keep the aquarium lights off for a few hours and wait until the following day before feeding.
Important: Arrived with an issue?
If any fish arrive dead (DOA), keep the transport bag sealed and contact us within 24 hours with clear photos of the fish inside the unopened bag.
See our DOA Policy for more information.

The Panda Garra is a distinctive freshwater fish with a tan to golden-brown body accented by bold dark brown to black patches and bands along its sides. Its streamlined body, flattened underside, broad pectoral fins, and rounded head give it a unique appearance, complemented by its sucker-like mouth and contrasting panda-like markings.
Common names: Panda Garra, Panda Garra Loach, Clown Garra, Banded Butterfly Garra
Scientific name: Garra flavatra
Approximate size: 6–9 cm
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial toward its own kind and similar-looking bottom-dwellers; best kept singly or in a group of 5–6 or more
Recommended tank size: 100 L or larger for a group
Diet: Omnivorous; primarily grazes on algae and biofilm, supplemented with spirulina foods, algae wafers, sinking pellets, blanched vegetables, and small frozen foods
Origin: Rakhine State, western Myanmar
Basic care information: Panda Garras are active bottom-dwellers recognized by their alternating dark and pale body bands and reddish fin markings. Provide a mature aquarium with smooth rocks, driftwood, open grazing surfaces, strong water circulation, and high oxygen levels. Maintain clean, stable water around 22–27°C with a pH of approximately 6.5–7.5. Algae and biofilm are important food sources, but they also need a varied supplementary diet. They may climb glass and jump, so a tightly fitted lid is essential.
