The Pacific Blue-Eye ‘Daintree’ is a small, slender freshwater fish with a silvery body and striking blue, reflective eyes. It has delicate translucent fins with subtle yellow and golden accents, giving it a bright and graceful appearance.

Scientific name: Pseudomugil signifer “Daintree”
Approximate size: 3–4 cm
Temperament: Peaceful and active; best kept in groups of 6 or more
Recommended tank size: 40–60 L or larger
Diet: Omnivorous; accepts small flakes, micro-pellets, and small frozen or live foods such as daphnia and baby brine shrimp
Origin: Daintree River drainage, Far North Queensland, Australia
Basic care information: Keep in a group in a well-planted aquarium with open swimming areas and gentle to moderate flow. Provide clean, well-oxygenated water with stable conditions. They naturally inhabit freshwater streams and can also occur in brackish estuarine habitats. Males are more colorful, with brighter fins and blue eyes, while females are generally less intensely colored. A secure lid is recommended as they can jump.
