Odessa Barbs (Pethia padamya) are colourful, active schooling fish admired for their shimmering silver bodies and striking red-orange stripe running along the sides of mature males. Their lively personality and attractive colouration make them an excellent addition to spacious community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water quality, good filtration, moderate water flow, and plenty of open swimming space alongside plants and décor. Best kept in groups, they display their natural social behaviour and develop their strongest colour when kept in a comfortable environment. Feed a varied diet of quality pellets, flakes, frozen, and live foods.
