Lemon Oscar - 7cm (Astronotus ocellatus) (Live Fish)

Lemon Oscars (Astronotus ocellatus) are striking South American cichlids admired for their bright lemon-yellow to golden colouration, robust body shape, and bold personality. This selectively bred colour variety stands out from the more commonly seen Tiger and Red Oscar forms and makes an impressive feature fish for a large freshwater aquarium.

They thrive in spacious, well-filtered aquariums with stable water quality, good oxygenation, and plenty of open swimming space. Driftwood, large rocks, and other sturdy décor can provide shelter, while a durable substrate is recommended as Oscars may rearrange their surroundings. They can be territorial and should be housed with appropriately sized, robust tankmates.

Feed a varied diet of quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods, and suitable live foods to support healthy growth and condition. Oscars are large fish and require a suitably sized aquarium as they mature.
