Kamaka Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia kamaka) are attractive Australian rainbowfish admired for their shimmering blue-green to golden colouration, streamlined bodies, and active schooling behaviour. Their vibrant appearance and peaceful nature make them an excellent choice for spacious planted community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water quality, good filtration, strong oxygenation, and plenty of open swimming space. Plants, driftwood, and natural décor can provide shelter around the edges while leaving ample room for active swimming. Best kept in groups, they feel more secure and display their natural social behaviour, with males often developing stronger colouration when displaying.

Feed a varied diet of quality rainbowfish pellets, flakes, frozen, and live foods to support healthy growth and vibrant colouration.
