Acclimation Guide

1. Prepare Your Aquarium

Make sure your aquarium is fully cycled, with 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite, and the temperature is suitable for your new fish.

2. Start Drip Acclimation

Place your fish and their transport water into a clean container. Using airline tubing, slowly drip water from your aquarium into the container at approximately 2–4 drops per second.

3. Slowly Add Aquarium Water

Over the next 30–60 minutes, allow the water volume to approximately double. This helps your fish gradually adjust to their new water conditions.

4. Transfer Your Fish

Gently net your fish into their new aquarium. Avoid adding transport water to your tank.

5. Give Them Time to Settle

Keep the aquarium lights off for a few hours and wait until the following day before feeding.

Important: Arrived with an issue?

If any fish arrive dead (DOA), keep the transport bag sealed and contact us within 24 hours with clear photos of the fish inside the unopened bag.

See our DOA Policy for more information.

The Ivory Mystery Snail is an attractive freshwater snail with a smooth, creamy white to pale ivory shell and a soft, pearly appearance. Its rounded spiral shell, broad muscular foot, and delicate sensory tentacles give it a distinctive and elegant look.

Common names: Ivory Mystery Snail, Ivory Apple Snail, White Mystery Snail
Scientific name: Pomacea diffusa — ivory color variety (often sold under the older name Pomacea bridgesii)
Approximate size: 4–5 cm shell diameter
Temperament: Peaceful and non-aggressive; generally compatible with peaceful community fish and freshwater shrimp
Recommended tank size: 20 L or larger for one snail
Diet: Omnivorous scavenger; algae wafers, sinking foods, biofilm, leftover fish food, and blanched vegetables such as zucchini and spinach
Origin: The wild species originates from the Amazon Basin in South America; the ivory coloration is developed through captive breeding
Basic care information: Ivory Mystery Snails have creamy white to pale ivory shells and light-colored bodies. Provide a fully cycled aquarium with stable water quality and sufficient minerals, especially calcium, to support healthy shell growth. Maintain water around 20–28°C with a pH of approximately 7.0–8.0 and moderate to hard water. Supplement natural algae and biofilm with dedicated snail foods and vegetables. Leave a gap above the waterline for air breathing and egg laying, and use a secure lid because they may climb out. Avoid copper-based treatments and tankmates that prey on snails. They may nibble on very soft or decaying plant material but generally leave healthy plants alone.
