Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa, particularly rocky areas around Nkhata Bay
Basic care information: A colorful Lake Malawi Mbuna known for its solid cobalt-blue coloration and lack of the prominent vertical bars seen in many other Zebra Mbuna. Provide a rocky aquarium with caves, crevices, and plenty of visual barriers. Maintain hard, alkaline, well-oxygenated water around 24–28°C with a pH of approximately 7.6–8.8. Keep one male with several females and avoid housing with similarly colored or overly aggressive Mbuna. Females are maternal mouthbrooders.
