Cherry Barbs (Puntius titteya) are peaceful freshwater schooling fish admired for their rich cherry-red colouration, subtle dark lateral stripe, and active yet gentle nature. Their compact size and calm temperament make them an excellent choice for planted community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water quality, gentle to moderate filtration, plenty of plants, and open swimming space. Best kept in groups, they feel more secure and display their natural social behaviour. Males often develop deeper red colouration when displaying, while females are generally more golden or brownish.

Feed a varied diet of quality small pellets, flakes, frozen, and live foods to support healthy growth and vibrant colouration.
