Acclimation Guide

1. Prepare Your Aquarium

Make sure your aquarium is fully cycled, with 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite, and the temperature is suitable for your new fish.

2. Start Drip Acclimation

Place your fish and their transport water into a clean container. Using airline tubing, slowly drip water from your aquarium into the container at approximately 2–4 drops per second.

3. Slowly Add Aquarium Water

Over the next 30–60 minutes, allow the water volume to approximately double. This helps your fish gradually adjust to their new water conditions.

4. Transfer Your Fish

Gently net your fish into their new aquarium. Avoid adding transport water to your tank.

5. Give Them Time to Settle

Keep the aquarium lights off for a few hours and wait until the following day before feeding.

Important: Arrived with an issue?

If any fish arrive dead (DOA), keep the transport bag sealed and contact us within 24 hours with clear photos of the fish inside the unopened bag.

Fantail Goldfish are popular fancy goldfish with a rounded body and vibrant coloration that may include orange, red, white, black, or combinations of these tones. Its distinctive double tail, rounded fins, and shimmering scales give it a graceful and elegant appearance.

Scientific name: Carassius auratus
Approximate size: 15–20 cm
Temperament: Peaceful and social; best kept with other similarly sized, slow-moving fancy goldfish
Recommended tank size: 100–150 L+ for one adult; larger for additional fish
Diet: Omnivorous; quality sinking goldfish pellets, vegetables, and suitable frozen or live foods such as daphnia and brine shrimp
Origin: China and Japan; developed through selective breeding and not found as a wild variety
Basic care information: A classic fancy goldfish variety with a rounded, egg-shaped body, upright dorsal fin, and distinctive double tail. Provide ample swimming space, strong biological filtration, good oxygenation, and regular water changes. Maintain clean, stable water around 18–24°C with a pH of approximately 6.5–8.5. Use smooth décor and gentle water flow, and avoid fast-swimming goldfish such as Comets that may outcompete Fantails for food. Sinking foods are preferred to help reduce buoyancy problems.
