Bolbitis heudelotii (Live Plant)

Bolbitis heudelotii, commonly known as African Water Fern, is an elegant aquatic fern admired for its delicate, translucent green, finely divided foliage. Its graceful fronds add texture and depth to planted aquariums, making it an excellent choice for midground to background planting and for attaching to natural hardscape.

It is a slow-growing rhizome plant that performs best in clean, stable water with gentle to moderate flow, moderate lighting, and soft, slightly acidic conditions. CO₂ supplementation can encourage faster, fuller growth, although the plant can grow without additional CO₂. Attach the rhizome to driftwood or rocks rather than burying it in substrate, as a buried rhizome can rot.

Propagation is straightforward by dividing the horizontal rhizome. Plant size, frond shape, density, colour, and appearance may vary.
