Basic care information: A small, colorful South American dwarf cichlid known for its blue, yellow, orange, and black markings. Provide a mature, well-planted aquarium with fine sand, driftwood, hiding places, and gentle water flow. Maintain stable temperatures around 27–30°C and pH around 5.5–7.0. Excellent water quality is important, as Blue Rams are sensitive to poor or unstable conditions. Keep with peaceful tankmates that can tolerate warm water and avoid aggressive fish. Pairs may become territorial when spawning and will guard their eggs and fry.
