Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia praecox) are vibrant freshwater rainbowfish admired for their shimmering blue-silver bodies, bright red or orange fins, and lively schooling behaviour. Their compact size and brilliant colouration make them an excellent choice for planted community aquariums.

They thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water quality, good filtration, moderate water movement, plenty of plants, and open swimming space. Best kept in groups, they display their natural social behaviour and develop their strongest colours when provided with a comfortable, well-planted environment. Feed a varied diet of quality micro pellets, flakes, frozen, and live foods.
