Acclimation Guide

1. Prepare Your Aquarium

Make sure your aquarium is fully cycled, with 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite, and the temperature is suitable for your new fish.

2. Start Drip Acclimation

Place your fish and their transport water into a clean container. Using airline tubing, slowly drip water from your aquarium into the container at approximately 2–4 drops per second.

3. Slowly Add Aquarium Water

Over the next 30–60 minutes, allow the water volume to approximately double. This helps your fish gradually adjust to their new water conditions.

4. Transfer Your Fish

Gently net your fish into their new aquarium. Avoid adding transport water to your tank.

5. Give Them Time to Settle

Keep the aquarium lights off for a few hours and wait until the following day before feeding.

The Gold White Cloud Minnow is a delicate freshwater fish with a shimmering golden-yellow body accented by subtle silvery highlights and a faint reddish stripe along its sides. Its slender, streamlined shape, dark reflective eyes, and translucent fins with hints of red and white give it a bright and graceful appearance.

Scientific name: Tanichthys albonubes — gold color variety
Approximate size: 3–4 cm
Temperament: Peaceful, active, and social; best kept in groups of 6–10 or more
Recommended tank size: 40 L or larger for a small group
Diet: Omnivorous; quality flakes, micro-pellets, daphnia, baby brine shrimp, small insect larvae, and other tiny live or frozen foods
Origin: The wild species originates from southern China; the gold variety is selectively bred for the aquarium trade
Basic care information: This hardy schooling fish has a golden-yellow to pinkish body and may display red markings on its fins. Provide a planted aquarium with open swimming space, clean, well-oxygenated water, and gentle to moderate flow. Maintain a cool temperature around 18–24°C with a pH of approximately 6.0–8.0. Gold White Cloud Minnows prefer cooler conditions than most tropical fish and generally do not require a heater in a suitably cool room. Keep them in a group and avoid large or aggressive tankmates. A secure lid is recommended because they can jump.
